With the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on October 25, 2024, the game is now available for PC players on Xbox Game Pass. Like other Call of Duty fans, I was eager to play this new title on my own high-performance PC to see if it lives up to the excitement.
From different sources, I have heard about some of the best elements that Black Ops 6 is possessing from previous Call of Duty campaigns while introducing fresh gameplay mechanics, I wanted to test how well it performs on upgraded hardware and assess whether it’s worth the playthrough.
For testing, I played Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on a setup that was way more powerful than the game’s recommended requirements, which gave me the freedom to experience its graphics and performance to the fullest. Here’s a comparison of my system specs versus the recommended specs for Black Ops 6.
Components | Required Recommended | My System Specs |
OS | Windows 10 64-Bit or Windows 11 64-Bit | Windows 11 64-Bit (latest update) |
Processor | Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X | Intel Core i9-9900K |
GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti / RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600XT (8 GB) | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (16 GB) |
With above specifications, I played Call of Duty Black Ops 6 at high settings and I got a smooth 100-120 FPS on my Corsair XENEON FLEX monitor. This setup provided an immersive experience with fluid visuals, which was essential given the game’s mix of intense combat and stealth mechanics.
Black Ops 6: Game Environment and Initial Impressions
At the very beginning, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 sets you a perfect scene, the one with the best spy movies, that sounds like an espionage mission. The game’s campaign is set in 1991 and the Black Ops oldies like Adler and Woods reappear but this time they are with young guns, and together they try to counteract a menacing Pantheon who is a new organization that emerged.
The plot takes us into an evil plot that jeopardizes the world and at the same time, it is stuffed with a series of surprising turns and demanding missions. To this end, I was constantly given the opportunity to participate and interact in the gaming experience.
Noteworthy Mission Highlights
Call of Duty Black Ops 6: Gameplay and Mechanics
There are many new mechanics introduced in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 that make the gameplay more dynamic like The Omni Movement System, that is a standout feature through which you are allowed for fluid directional movements during combat. This made firefights feel responsive and intense, especially during moments when I had to dodge enemy fire and quickly retaliate.
Gadgets and Replayability
The campaign keeps things fresh by incorporating a variety of gadgets. For example:
These gadgets during missions have made me feel like I was immersed in it and the possibility of choosing an approach rather than being forced into one mission made the process of the game feel original. I also appreciated that the game minimized instant-fail mechanics, allowing for more tactical freedom.
Visuals and Side Missions
One aspect I thoroughly enjoyed in game was it’s graphical fidelity. The WQHD resolution on my Corsair monitor made every scene look stunning, especially during missions set in complex environments like the Bulgarian manor where hidden secrets and side objectives are added as an exploratory element.

In one mission, the developers incorporated hallucinatory visuals similar to Bioshock that created an unnatural and memorable atmosphere that made a lasting impression.
Traditional Combat with a Modern Twist
Though Call of Duty Black Ops 6 emphasizes espionage, it doesn’t shy away from large-scale combat scenes. Gulf War missions felt same like classic Call of Duty by blending stealth and intense firefights across expansive maps and also Desert mission where I had to destroy Scud missile sites was a particular highlight that allows for multiple approaches according to player choice.
